    In 1789 George Frost built a small house on the end of what came to be known as Frost Point.  It grew from a cottage to a farm to a boarding house.  After the Civil War new owners added a three-story wing and reopened it as the Sagamore House.  As it was being prepared for its second season, in 1871, it burned to the ground.

    The Odiorne Homestead was built around 1800 on a tidewater farm that had been settled since the 1600s.   The farmhouse stands across the road from Odiorne Point State Park and serves as the regional park headquarters.

    In 1800 the Foye family began a farm on Odiorne's Point.  A century later, Wesley Foye sat with his niece on the front step of the farmhouse.
